Our employees

Our employees are among the best and brightest in the industry. They come to Parrish Services with a strong work ethic and a desire to help.

Like professional athletes, our employees have different skill levels, and we don’t take our skills for granted. We harness all available resources (e.g., on the job training, specialized manufacturer training, community college courses, distance learning, and more) to enable our employees to continually develop their skills. We offer training allowances for our employees and allow them to be active participants in this process.

We believe in working together as a team, so you might see anyone from our office staff on a ride-along with a technician. We want our back office team to understand customers’ needs, and we want a seamless flow of information between technicians and the back office. Riding together helps us accomplish these goals.

Our Management Team

Alan Givens, Owner and CEO

Alan Givens founded Parrish Services in 1996 working out of the basement of his (then) Harpers Ferry, WV home. As employee #1, he exhibited passion and delivered the quality service for which we’ve become well-known.

Alan began his career with formal study at a trade school in his home state of Louisiana, and he worked for a number of large companies including Sears. He left the field to become an expert, cross-industry labor consultant and in the process made Virginia his home. Ultimately, he missed the thrill of solving a problem and helping people, so he founded Parrish (a nod to his Louisiana heritage) Services.

As the demand for his services grew, he expanded the company by adding first a plumbing division and then an electrical division.

Alan holds master’s licenses in all three trades – HVAC, plumbing, gas fitters, and electrical. Today he is the CEO but you will find him in the field far more often than you’ll find him behind his desk.

Alan is very active in the industry. He was asked to serve on the State Building Code Technical Review Board, and he is an active member and past president of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association in Virginia. He enjoys working with many charities including Lions Camp, Habitat for Humanity, and Rebuilding Together.

​Get to know Alan: Get to know Alan: Alan traveled abroad playing professional (yes, professional!) paintball and was once a K-9 officer. And being a true entrepreneurial spirit, he owns several other companies including TradeWraps.

Linda Couch, COO

The common denominator in Linda’s education and career has been a love of problem-solving. She holds a B.S. in Mathematics from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from University of Maryland. After an extensive 20+ year career in information technology, Linda joined Parrish in 2009 – she was excited to have the new challenge of managing a small business.

​Linda originally hails from Boston and grew up in the northeast. But with the exception of a five-year stint in Tokyo, she has lived her adult life in the mid-Atlantic area, Today she works at Parrish and oversees all office-based functions. She enjoys serving the community on non-profit boards and has been most recently elected to the Board of Directors for the Air Conditioning Contractors of America.

Get to know Linda: Linda’s passion is world travel and cultural exchange, so she’s an avid home exchanger.

Amanda Foxwell, Manager

Amanda Foxwell, Manager

Amanda is a true testament to Parrish’s commitment to investing in our employees as well as recognizing and rewarding hard work. Her work ethic, leadership ability, and devotion to Parrish are something to admire. She started with us in 2005 as an evening customer service agent and has worked her way up through the company into her current role as General Manager. She has put in countless hours of training and education, all while working full time with the company in order to grow into her current role. She leads our team by example and has certainly been an essential part of Parrish’s success over the years. Amanda has truly become the heart of the company and that’s not surprising because she does have a huge heart. Caring, thoughtful, considerate, and understanding may not be the first thoughts that come to mind when describing the typical Boss, but Amanda is one of a kind. She treats all of her employees like family, and as a customer of ours, you can be assured, knowing that you are also an extension of that.

Get to know Amanda: Amanda’s grandfather, father, uncles, and brother are all plumbers, so we knew it would be only a matter of time before she found her way into the trades. As a self-proclaimed homebody, spending time at home with her husband and two daughters is an ideal day in her book. Speaking of books, Amanda is an avid reader and loves to dive into a good story whenever she finds the time. This can be hard, because she also has 3 dogs Ovie, Able, & Rocky, and they definitely love lots of attention!

Eileen

Eileen

Eileen started with Parrish in 2013 and has become a rock within the company ever since. She has a wide variety of education and experience beginning with a BA in Business Administration and a Paralegal degree. She also completed the Police Academy and graduated top of her class! Today, Eileen oversees all of our jobs including accounts receivables, managing your memberships, working with the county to ensure your project has the right permits and customer resolutions. Always willing to chip in, you may even catch her helping out the Customer Service team by answering one of your calls to schedule an appointment. Eileen is one of our resident class clowns, if you are lucky enough to get her on the line and you ever need a good laugh, she’s sure to come through. Since she works from home, one of her fur babies Sami, Zoey, or Jager Meister, may even say hello to you from the background! According to her, the best part of her job is working in her PJs.

Get to know Eileen: As a mom of 3 boys and a former police officer, she’s no stranger to managing chaos. To wind down, she enjoys baking, particularly constructing elaborate and time-consuming cake designs. Over the years, Eileen has also developed a great love for fishing and will get out of the house whenever she can to enjoy a peaceful day on the water. She is really a Jill of all trades!

Jo-Anne

Jo-Anne

Jo-Anne started with us in 2000 and has become a fundamental member of the Parrish Services team. As one of our most creative team members, she helps to compose our promotional campaigns and informational flyers for our Marketing Department. Her talent is also used to keep all of our internal processes up to date. In addition, Jo-Anne is our Install Coordinator, taking care of the many details related to new HVAC system installs as well as our Main Dispatcher, making sure our technicians get to your home efficiently and safely. She even helps out with Customer Service phone calls when needed! Jo-Anne is a very well-rounded employee, wearing many different hats here at Parrish, each of which she takes seriously, and completes to the best of her ability, always putting the customer first! If you have contact with her, you can be assured that you are in capable hands.

Get to know Jo-Anne: Being so creative, it only makes sense that she extends that into her personal life as well. She enjoys hobbies such as interior design and is known to help out friends with their decorating and DIY projects around the home in her free time. She has a particular penchant for organizing and creating functional spaces. She also enjoys all the creativity that cooking has to offer and will try out new recipes as often as she can. Going to the pool or beach in the summers is a must! Jo-Anne is also the mom of the cutest Chug (pug/Chihuahua) named Roscoe.
